It should come as no surprise that Toronto’s poshest neighbourhood is also one of the best places to ring in the new year.

Known as a hub for art, culture, fashion and fine dining, Yorkville is where it’s all happening on December 31st. Here’s where you’ll find this year’s most exclusive NYE events.

STK Toronto

Toronto’s top-rated steakhouse is offering an NYE open-bar package that promises to be one of the hottest tickets in town. The restaurant, which also has locations in London, Milan and Ibiza, is notable for its high-energy aesthetic. Swooping design elements cascade from the ceiling and the all-white bar crowned with a display of cow horns goes far beyond traditional steakhouse décor. The sleek, ultramodern setting has made STK one of Toronto’s most in-demand locations for special events, and New Year’s Eve is no exception. Dance the night away to a live DJ in the stylish lounge space, and enjoy premium cocktails and signature bites. Tickets for the event ring in at $179 — just below the priciest steak on the menu.

NYE at the Royal Ontario Museum

The ROM is one of the largest museums in North America, drawing in more than a million visitors every year. Among Toronto’s top tourist attractions, it’s known for its popular party nights in the fall, where you can dance among the dinosaur bones. #ROMNYE promises to be every bit as much of a hit – the event includes DJs, live bands, party favours and a midnight toast. Choose one of the dinner packages to dine in the exhibition that best suits your tastes — either Classic Horror and Sci-Fi Art or Wildlife Photographer of the Year. Dinners will be served family style with communal seating, and include two drink tickets plus wine with dinner. Prices range from $90 to $250. The central location also makes this event a great option if you’re coming into town for the evening — it’s a perfect excuse for you to stay at Our House!

Hemingway’s

One of the most unique events this New Year’s Eve is the Silent Disco on Hemingway’s rooftop patio. This bar has been a Toronto institution for decades, with heated and covered patios on every floor making it a year-round destination for all types of locals and travellers. On New Year’s Eve, three live DJs will be spinning from 10PM to 3AM. You can dance to the music of your choice —Top 40 and hip-hop, rock, or 80s, 90s and 2K throwback. If you haven’t been to a silent disco before, here’s how it works: you’ll receive a set of wireless headphones when you enter and can switch among the three channels. Each headset has a coloured LED light that shows what channel you’re listening to, so you can identify those listening to the same DJ. If you hate the ringing in your ears after a typical night in the club, this could be the event for you.

These events should provide the inspiration you need to start off 2020 in style. Happy New Year!
